Our Story

Founder, Jason Tanzillo: When I was old enough to remember, whenever I was on summer break from school my father would take me with him to work. This was the foundation of my father passing his passion and love for creating things out of raw material down to me. When I became an adult, I decided to follow in my father’s footsteps and start our own father-son business. The business started in our garage – in the home that my family has lived in for 3 generations on West University. We started building custom cabinets and small remodels for local homeowners. As we began to grow and move into the commercial field we began to take on employees and moved into a larger shared shop space with the Arizona theatre company. Both my father and I had worked for the theatre as scenic carpenters building the sets for the plays.

My father was a master carpenter while he was at the theater company. Moving into this space allowed us to expand our capacity and crew. We now have our own shop and serve nationwide contractors. We have been able to be a part of exciting projects such as the new Tucson airport expansion, the new terminal three expansion at Phoenix sky harbor named after the late John McCain, The historic courthouse and Pioneer Building in downtown Tucson. We have also expanded our work out of state, doing work in California, New Mexico, New Hampshire, and have manufactured and shipped pieces all over the country. We have also furnished small chains like the First Watch for example with mill packages for their restaurants.

  • Our millworkers in the shop are cross-trained creating a flexible multi-talented workforce ready to meet the changing needs.

  • We work with suppliers to develop systems that allow us to collaborate more effectively.

  • Tanzillo & Son is a unique company made strong by our skilled crew that cares deeply about our customers and the custom products we make.

  • Each person is valued in our company and has a financial stake in the wellbeing of our customers and companies.

  • We work in a collaborative manner allowing us to understand how all the pieces of a construction puzzle go together. Our workers understand their own portion, have a pride in their craftsmanship, and understand scheduling and cost constraints.

  • Whether moving into a new home or improving their current one, our customers want to create their ideal living spaces – and it is our goal to help them.

  • We have built our reputation as one of the best cabinet makers around by committing ourselves to four service basics: safe and clean workplace, quality construction, fashionable products, and complete, on-time delivery.
